Goa Govt reduces minimum qualification required for appointment as OSDs of ministers

Panaji, Nov 6 (GCCurrentAffairs) Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Wednesday announced that the state cabinet had decided to provide relaxation in the minimum qualification required for appointment as an Officer on Special Duty (OSDs) of a minister.

Addressing a press conference at state secretariat at Porvorim, near the city, the Chief Minister said three ministers, namely Deputy Chief Minister Chandrakant Babu Kavlekar, Revenue Minister Jennifer Monserrate and Ports Minister Michael Lobo, had requested for reducing the minimum qualification so that they could have ‘like-minded’ officers.

‘Minimum qualification required for Officer on Special Duty (OSD) was Graduation. But minister’s requested that relaxation be given for that. They wanted to have like-minded OSDs,’ he said.

The Chief Minister said minimum qualification for appointment as OSDs might be 12th pass or diploma.
