Goa Legislators will be fined for Bike Ride without Helmet: CM

The Goa Government through its Department of Transport will be fining the eight Goa legislators who rode in and out of the Goa Assembly on their high-end motor-cycles without helmets, which is a violation of the RTO rules of the state. This was revealed by Manohar Parrikar, Chief Minister of Goa during the Zero Hour session in the House at the on-going Goa Assembly.

Minister of Labour & Fisheries Avertano Furtado, Porvorim MLA Rohan Khaunte, Nuvem MLA Francisco (Mickky) Xavier Pacheco, Vasco MLA Carlos Almeida, Calangute MLA Michael Lobo, Sankhali MLA Pramod Sawant, Bicholim MLA Naresh Sawal and Curchorem MLA Nilesh Cabral were the legislators involved in this display of their high-end bikes and in violation of the RTO rules.

“They have violated the law and have to be fined accordingly which they have been. Let’s look at this incident with a positive frame since now the RTO can make the MLAs as an example of breaking the law and not being spared to the people of Goa who violate rules,” expressed Parrikar.
