Goa’s Industries Minister Mahadev Naik and Ponda MLA Lavu Mamledar traveled on an official visit to the United Kingdom without required Central government clearances. This has been revealed in the information obtained by Adv. Aires Rodrigues under the Right to Information Act from the General Administration department at the Secretariat.
As per the file notings Industries Minister Mahadev Naik and Ponda MLA Mr. Lavu Mamledar who is the Chairman of Goa Handicrafts Rural and Small Scale Industries Development Corporation (GHRSSIDC) left on 31st August on a study tour to participate in the International Autumn Fair at Birmingham in the United Kingdom and returned on 7th September. Levinson Martins, Managing Director of (GHRSSIDC) and Domnic Fernandes the Technical Manager also accompanied as part of the study tour.
The file notings reveal that the team left for the United Kingdom without obtaining the required approvals of the Union Home, External Affairs and Finance Ministries. This despite the order dated 29th August issued by N.P.Signapurkar Under Secretary Personnel stipulating that the UK tour was only subject to clearances from the Central Ministries.
