Goa Needs To Buck Up: Yash Chopra

In what could be interpreted as a wakeup call to the State Government, Yash Chopra speaking as the Chief Guest at the inaugural function for the International Film Festival of India, lamented that there has been no progress in improving the infrastructure for the last six years.
He pointed out that IFFI is being conducted in Goa with the same infrastructure that was erected in 2004 for the first edition seven years ago and regretted that no infrastructure to match international standards has come up in Goa.

“If Goa could put up a multiplex with four screens within a period of six months, it can do lot more,” he said while pointing out that every year the international film festivals world over were improving while in Goa this was not happening.
He suggested that the state government explore the possibility of having a multiplex with 12 screens and also a convention centre, which incidentally was proposed way back in 2004 and has remained merely a proposal since then.
