Goa on ‘Precautionary’ Alert post Pune Blasts

Though there is no specific information from Central Intelligence Agencies about a terror attack on Goa, the Director General of Police (DGP-Goa), as a precautionary measure has issued a ‘terror alert’.

Last night four low-intensity blasts rocked Pune in which two individuals were seriously injured. The National Intelligence Agency (NIA) has been called in to investigate the incident and that it could be a ‘terror attack’ has not be ruled out. The suspicion of a terrorists’ involvement stem from Pune’s history as a strong base of the Indian Mujahideen (IM).

“We have alerted police stations, SPs and other concerned officers. And we are monitoring the situation here in the state,” expressed DGP-Goa, Krishna Kumar.
