Goa Pavilion Gathers Tremendous Response At IITF, 2011

The Goa Pavilion at India International Trade Fair (IITF), New Delhi has become a “Tourist Spot” for the large number of visitors at Pragati Maidan.  The Fair was inaugurated by Finance Minister, Mr. Pranab Mukherjee on 14th November, 2011.

The creative concept and design, the Goa stall at India International Trade Fair (IITF) has attracted a large number of visitors. IITF, which is currently underway at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi was inaugurated by Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee on 14th November.

The Goa Pavilion depicts the mountains of the Western Ghats, the beaches, the light house at Aguada and the Tirakhol Fort. The interiors of the pavilion have Goan houses depicting the rich architectural heritage of Goa. The Martyrs memorial at Azad Maidan is also created at the Pavilion.

This year, Goa has laid emphasis on the golden jubilee celebrations of Goa’s liberation at the fair. All the internal roads of Pragati Maidan have branding of Goa with the logo of 50 years of liberation. The trolleys ferrying the visitors from one pavilion to the other also have the branding of Goa.

“Goa Khanaval”, the Goa’s food stall is at Food Court–II near hall no. 6 of Pragati Maidan which serves the authentic Goan food items. Hundreds of visitors have tasted Goan delicacies at the food stall.

Directorate of Industries, Trade and Commerce, Directorate of Tourism, GTDC, IDC, Craftsmen Training are participants at the Goa pavilion.

Goa Handicrafts Rural Small Scale Industry Development Corporation (GHRSSIDC) has deputed various artisans to Delhi to participate in the fair.
