Goa reports highest single-day spike of 636 COVID-19 cases

Panjim: Goa once a Green Zone state has today reported its highest spike in COVID-19 cases. One case includes the Chief Minister of Goa Dr. Pramod Sawant

A record of 636 new cases of COVID-19 was found in Goa while ten persons succumbed to infections in the state on Wednesday.

With the new number of COVID-19 cases, the total number of confirmed cases in the state reached to 18,642 while the tally of active COVID-19 cases in the state reached at 4,379.

However, 209 patients were discharged from various facilities taking the number of total recovered patients in the state to 14,059.

On Wednesday, 2199 samples were tested, out of which 1228 were negative while results of 335 were awaited.

The dead included a 47-year-old man from Candolim, a 70-year-old man from Fatorda, 76-year-old woman Vasco, a 36-year-old man from Vasco, 55-year-old man from Mapusa, a 30-year-old man from Sao Jose do Areal, 65-year-old man from Bicholim, a 53-year-old woman from Nerul, and a 64-year-old man from Sankhali.
