Congress Legislature Party (CLP) leader and Quepem MLA Chandrakant Kavlekar has claimed that people in Goa will celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi festival in dark as power situation in the state was deteriorating.
Addressing a press conference after a meeting of the CLP on Friday he said, “There is complete power failure in Goa. Ganesh Chaturthi is now approaching in ten days. Before this time, the power situation should have been addressed. Now it is too late. This time Chaturthi will be in the dark. This is the first time it has happened in Goa. The biggest festival in Goa will be celebrated in the dark.”
The Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Assembly also claimed that there was nobody whom the MLAs could complain to.
“Who will we go to, to complain? There is no finance minister, no CM. I cannot even take an appointment. CM has not given a charge to anyone. We will have to come out on the street and gherao the concerned ministers and the officers. Just promises will not do,” he said.
