Taking cue from GoaChronicle.com Expose ‘Now Porn Promotes Goa Unofficially’ on 13th August 2010, the Opposition Party BJP and supporting the claim of this online news portal and the people of Goa at large that mushrooming of porn sites with Goa as the back-drop and lure factor is giving Goa a bad name in both national and international markets; has a demanded shut down of the website sexygoa.com and other such websites which promotes sexual activities in Goa.

Raising the issue in the assembly today, Fatorda MLA Damodar Naik, demanded that the government needs to ensure that websites of such nature should be brought under check and banned from display whether the originate in India or outside of India; since it does not portray the true culture of Goa and showcases Goa as a destination of sex and sleaze.
More so, Naik continued this issue had been raised in the assembly last year yet nothing has been done on part of the government to ban these sites and the hits on these sites have been increasing as mentioned by an article and a video story posted on GoaChronicle.com
In the last year assembly sessions the Chief Minister stated that since these sites originate out of Goa it is difficult to ban or stop streaming on these sites. However, in the same tone few months later the CM was keen to ban Facebook in Goa.
