The Goan team comprising of Nickton Dias and Premsagar B, bagged the second prize at the fifth National Project Exhibition and Competition in Nashik.
The duo, students of Diploma in Electronics and Instrumentation, Government Polygechnic, Panaji presented an unique design for anemometer which is used to measure wind speed.
The Goan design eliminated the use of moving part and used a differential pressure sensor. Besides it also incorporated a SMS service for storm warning.
Nickton Dias and Premsagar B were honoured with merit certificates and a cash award of Rs. 5,000 at the competition organized by K K Wagh Polytechnic Nashik.
They were guided in their project by Brian Soares and Jagdish Bandodkar from the institute.
