Goans can ‘handle’ alcohol, do not want tourists who cannot: Tourism Minister
Goa Tourism Minister Manohar Ajgaonkar on Thursday informed the State Legislative Assembly Goans can ‘handle’ alcohol and the state does not want tourists who indulge in drugs and break bottles on beach.
Speaking during Question Hour, the Minister said, “We do not want tourists who indulge in drugs and break bottles on the beach. They have to take care of our culture. If a Goan person drinks and walks along the road, he will not waver. He will walk quietly.”
Azgaonkar said issues like drinking alcohol and littering in public place had become a menace and the state would like to deter such type of tourism from visting Goa.
The minister’s comment came at a time when the state government was contemplating imposing a ban on drinking alcohol and littering in public.
