Around 1,000 supporters of Baba Ramdev, the country’s Yoga Guru are scheduled to join him at Ramleela ground in New Delhi when he launches his fast unto death on 4th June to demand anti-corruption measures.
Kamlesh Bandekar, Joint Convenor of Bharat Swabhiman Trust in Goa said that arrangements are being made to transport the supporters to Delhi. He however, could not reveal how many Goans will be joining Baba Ramdev on the fast unto death in Delhi but all will join the dharna there, he said.
He announced that a simultaneous fast unto death will be launched in Goa at Azad Maidan but would not disclose the names of the persons undertaking this. He said that there would be at least 500 people sitting on a chain hunger strike at Goa every day.
Baba Ramdev has three main demands – concrete initiatives to tackle corruption, getting back the black money stashed in foreign banks and action against people who have stashed the money in foreign banks.
Besides, Baba Ramdev is also demanding death sentence to those convicted of corruption under the Lokpal Bill and also an amendment to the Land Acquisition Act.
