The government of Goa had invited expression of interest last year to set up a golf course at Pernem that would be of standards approved by the Professional Golfers Association (PGA).
Three proposals were received in response and Leading Hotels has been selected. Four Seasons group will be associated in the operation and management of the golf course.
The golf course will be set up at Terekol as that was the site recommended by all the three bidders.
The golf course is sought to be developed under a central government scheme for which Rs. 50 crore subsidy is available from the Centre.
The golf course will be spread over an area of 200 acres and will include a 150 acre international standard golf course while the balance 50 acres will be used for other tourist facilities including hospitality.
