The Goa State Information Commission has issued notices to Governor Dr. S S Sidhu and his Special Secretary Dr. N Radhakrishnan to appear before it in person on 4th January for a hearing.
The notice was issued following a complaint by Advocate Aires Rodrigues for not providing him information sought under the Right to Information. Aires had sought to know what action the Governor had taken against his complaints made by him to the Governor regarding Advocate General Subodh Kantak.
Replying to the RTI application, Radhakrishnan had declined to furnish the information arguing that the Governor was not a public authority.
However, in his complaint to the State Information Commission, Aires pointed out that the Governor has been notified as a public authority to furnish information and added that the refusal to furnish the information was unreasonable and with malafide intentions.
