The Cabinet gave its consent to construct by-passes in mining areas, on Wednesday.
Speaking to media persons, Chief Minister Digambar Kamat informed that construction of by-passes will be carried out in three phases.
Kamat informed that the land for the same will be provided by the state while expenditure for the construction would be borne by the mining companies.
He said that the cabinet has approved the contract of first phase of 9-kilometre by-pass Uguem to Guddemol and also approved the tendering work for 13 km bypass from Guddemol to Kapshem.
He further added that the alignment for the third phase work from Cavrem to Kurdi is still being finalized.
“The construction of these by-passes will be carried out by Goa State Infrastructure Development Corporation (GSIDC)”, he said and added that this would be carried out through a tripartite agreement which would be signed between the Government, GSIDC and the mining companies for execution of work.
