Government Gazette in Braille

Goa became the first State in India to publish its official government notification the Official Gazette in Braille for the benefit of the visually handicapped readers.
After inaugurating the Braille embosser which will print the Official Gazette on demand, Minister for Printing Aleixo Sequeira announced that it would be provided free of cost to visually handicapped Goans while for commercial establishments and educational institutes the same would be provided at a nominal cost.
The Official Gazette that is published every Thursday giving people information about various government policies and other related matters, will be converted into Braille within a few minutes following the special software developed by Modular Private Ltd.

Rozendo Mendosa, President of National Association for Blind’s Goa unit thanked the government for providing this facility which is the first of its kind in the country.
