Government Issues Notice To Pandurang Nadkarni
The notice was issued by the Director of Information Menino Peres asking for Nadkarni’s explanation at the earliest.
It may be recalled that a committee headed by Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar had recommended Pandurang Nadkarni’s name for the post of state information commissioner.
Meanwhile, this move has been strongly objected to by Adv. Aires Rodrigues who complained to Goa Governor B. V. Wanchoo that Nadkarni did not have the required knowledge and experience of law and that he had also falsified his bio-data by inflating it with wrong statements.
Drawing the Governor’s attention that Section 15(5) of the Right to Information Act requires that the Information Commissioner should have wide knowledge and experience of law, Adv. Rodrigues stated that Mr. Nadkarni had no knowledge and experience of law whatsoever.
