The Town and Country Planning (TCP) Department on Tuesday issued order to keep the no objection certificates (NOCs) given under the plan in abeyance, as a result of which the projects will not be able to proceed further until further orders.
Chief Town Planner S Putturaju informed that the proposals would be kept on hold till government decides on the plan.
He further informed that all the permissions granted, or the applications received after 20th March will be referred to the state government which will be decided on case-to-case basis. And further added that the all the TCP officials have been asked to stop issuance of no objection certificates.
It may be recalled that RP-2021, which was drafted by the previous government, had provoked a lot of opposition as civil rights groups said it would destroy the greenery in the state.
Meanwhile, the BJP had promised to scrap the plan on coming to power and Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar had earlier said that decision on the new plan would be taken only after 20th April.
