Government servant who is accused in Benaulim minors rape case suspended: Goa CM

Panaji: Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Thursday told the state assembly that one of the rape accused who was a government servant had been suspended.

He placed the suspension order on the table of the house. The accused who works as a driver in the agriculture department was arrested along with three other accused in connection with rape of two minors at Benaulim in South Goa.

The accused Rajesh Mane is the driver who works for a senior government official in the Agricultural Department of Goa. He is a government servant.

Rajesh Mane, is one of the four accused who have allegedly gang-raped two minors posing as Goa policemen at the beachside in Benaulim village. The other accused identified are Asif Hateli, Gajanand Chinchinkar and Nitin Yabbal.

A case was registered at Colva Police Station and it has now been transferred to the Crime Branch of Goa Police.
