Govt Committee Not To View DMD

The special committee constituted by the government to give a report on the movie Dum Maro Dum has decided not to view the movie in the wake of the High Court order yesterday and also because chairman of the committee, Information Secretary Rajiv Verma is not in Goa.
“There is no need to see the movie now,” said Director of Information Menino Peres, Secretary of the committee.

The committee was constituted by the government after a public interest litigation was filed by Founder and Editor in Chief of Goa Chronicle.com to ensure that the movie does not show Goa or Goans in a bad light.
The producers and distributors of the movie had earlier in the court, expressed their willingness to screen the film for the judges and the petitioner, however, after the court order on Monday, they changed their stance to state that they will not be showing the film to anybody before its theatrical release on grounds that the plot of the film could not be revealed in advance.
