Govt. Considering Withdrawal of Cases Against UTAA: CM

Chief Minister Digambar Kamat reportedly assured a delegation of the Scheduled Tribes cell of the Goa Pradesh Congress Committee that the government would look into the possibilities of softening its stand against the tribals with regard to the Balli incident of 25th May.

The delegation led by the Cell’s chairman Kanta Gaude urged the chief minister to soften the stand on tribals and also consider withdrawing the cases filed against them.

Further the delegation urged the chief minister to quickly implement all the schemes aimed at benefiting the tribal population so that the ugly memories of 25th May can be erased.
The Chief Minister reportedly assured the delegation that he would consider their demand earnestly.

Home Minister Ravi Naik and Tribals Welfare Minister Filipe Neri Rodrigues were also present when the delegation called on the Chief Minister.
