Govt. Employees Suspend Strike

The Goa Government Employees Association on Wednesday evening announced the withdrawal of their three-day “pen down” strike after the government assured to resolve their grievances. GGEA President Mangaldas Shetkar stated that the strike was being kept on hold following Chief Minister Digambar Kamat’s assurance on the floor of the house.
He said the association has asked all its members to resume work from Thursday.

Ironically, the Chief Minister while speaking about the strike on the floor of the House had asserted that it was immoral and had only promised to take remedial action after finding out why the Secretariat Staff is paid a higher salary then the other government servants.
