The Pilerne Citizens Forum flayed both the government and the Opposition for not tabling the Lokayukta Bill in the Assembly and while pointing out that the government does not hesitate to issue ordinances whenever it wants, questioned why an ordinance was not issued to prevent corruption.
Speaking to media persons, Adv. Yatish Naik of the Forum pointed out that there was no law against corruption in Goa as the Public Man’s Corruption Act was withdrawn in favour of the Lokayukta bill. “Today we do not have the Lokayukta bill nor the Public Man’s Corruption Act,” he lamented.
While extending its whole hearted support to the India Against Corruption movement, the Forum has also appealed to people to attend the Anna Hazare meeting at Panjim on 13th May.
