Chief Minister Digambar Kamat on Friday informed that the government has decided to enhance the remuneration of contract basis faculty in Degree and Diploma level technical institutions, based on their qualification.
Speaking as Chief Guest at the Teachers Day celebrations organized by Directorate of Education at Kala Academy, Panjim; Kamat said those possessing B.E. or B. Tech. will get a monthly remuneration of Rs. 24,600 while those possessing M.E. or M.Tech. will get a monthly remuneration of Rs. 30000.
On similar lines, contract basis faculty in Colleges who do not possess NET/SET will get monthly remuneration of Rs. 24,600 while those possessing NET/SET will get monthly remuneration of Rs. 30000, effective from 1st July 2011.
He also said the Government has cleared the proposal for implementing part ‘B’ pay scales for the teachers, notionally with effect from 1st January 2006 and provide them with monetary benefits in the revised pay scale with effect from 1st July 2011.
On this occasion, six teachers — Alba Fernandes, Shaikh Hanif, Reva Dessai, Govind Hawaldar, Mangala Dessai and Sidha S. Poojary –were honoured with State awards for their dedicated services in the field of education.
