GSHRC issues notice to CS & Registrar of Bombay High Court

The Goa State Human Rights Commission (GSHRC) today issued notice to the Chief Secretary of Goa and the Registrar of the Bombay High Court over the non-payment of this month’s salary to the entire staff of the Bombay High Court at Goa. There are around 150 staff working at the Bombay High Court at Goa

Acting on a complaint filed by Adv. Aires Rodrigues the three member GSHRC headed by Justice P.K.Misra today directed the Registrar of the Bombay High Court and the Chief Secretary to submit their report on 14th March.

Adv. Aires Rodrigues in his complaint to the GSHRC today submitted that since its inception the staff of the Bombay High Court have always been paid on the 1st of the month but in blatant violation of their human rights the salaries this month have not been paid though it was already 6th March.

Stating that the non receipt of salary this month was a grave injustice to the staff and their families, Adv. Rodrigues in his complaint pointed out to the GSHRC  that the staff at the Bombay High Court at Goa unlike most other government employees do not have an alternate source of income.
