GVP, after MGP align in BJP-led Goa Government

The Goa Vikas Party has now joined the BJP-MGP alliance to run the Goa Government. This announcement was made today by the Chief Minister, Manohar Parrikar in the presence of GVP Supremo Mickky Pacheco.

Not being able to reach an understanding with the Congress Party for the Cortalim seat, Goa Vikas Party (GVP) has decided to forge an alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in running the government and will also lend support to its candidate Alina Saldanha in the Cortalim by-poll.

Confirming this new development to GoaChronicle.com, GVP, general secretary, Lyndon Monteiro said, “We have decided to forge an alliance with BJP and we will be supporting Alina Saldanha.” Though, Monteiro was not willing to divulge much about the alliance at this stage.

Similarly, Narinder Sawaikar, general secretary, BJP also confirmed this new development.
