Hamirpur (HP): The district administration has imposed restrictions on Holi celebrations in public places so as to check the transmission of the novel Corona virus.
District Magistrate, Debasweta Banik in an order issued here last night issued instructions prohibiting all religious congregations and langars inside and around the temples/ places of worship with immediate effect.
However, pilgrims/devotees may be allowed to enter the sanctum sanatorium for offering puja/darshan etc.
There are no prohibition for celebrations inside residential dwellings.
Banik also said that the District Administration will take decision on imposing further restrictions/conditions keeping in view the rate of positivity, fatality rate and the number of positive cases etc. in their respective districts or local areas.
The District Magistrate has also issued instructions that all the Departments and Organizations of the Government, Police Officers/Officials and Local Authorities of the State are directed to ensure strict compliance with the directions of the SEC and various SOPs.
She has also warned that any person violating these measures will be liable to be prosecuted
as per the provisions of Sec 51-60 of the Disaster Management Act, 2005, besides legal action under Section 188 of the IPC, and other legal provisions as applicable.
This Order shall remain in force, in all parts of the district with immediate effect till further orders.
It’s worth mentioning here that these orders were in addition to those issued earlier in which all the educational institutions had been closed till April 4th.
