Goa Cricket Association President Dayanand Narvekar asserted that he has done nothing wrong with regards to the registration of his son Ganeshraj’s birth and promised to come clear on the matter before the investigating authorities and the GCA.
While pointing out that Dr. Shekhar Salkar’s charges against him amounted to character assassination and threatened to take necessary action in this regard
Speaking to media persons on Monday, Dayanand admitted that his son Ganeshraj’s birth was registered late but would not give the reasons for the same even though he being an advocate was aware of the laws of the land.
He said that he had followed the procedure laid down to register a birth late and added that there must be thousands of such births registered in the State.
Replying to a question about the different dates of birth, he said his wife who had given a different date, would explain it to the investigating officers.
Dayanand Narvekar said he would place all the facts at the GCA General Body meeting scheduled next month and would let the affiliated clubs to decide upon the matter and even offered to resign as GCA president if the clubs felt he should do so.
He accused Dr. Salkar of being vindictive due to the differences the two had over the GCA and asserted that there was no conspiracy whatsoever, involved in the matter.
