Panjim: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Tuesday said he had invited Prime Minister Narendra Modi to inaugurate various projects in the state.
Addressing a press conference in the city, he said,” During my meeting with the Prime Minister briefed him about various projects undertaken in the state and invited him to inaugurate them.”
The Chief Minister said he also informed the Prime Minister about the state’s vaccination projects and its preparedness to face the third wave of Covid 19.
He said he informed the Prime Minister that 85 percent of the state population had been administered the first dose of the Covid vaccine.
The Chief Minister said during a meeting with the Minister of Environment and Forest Bhupender Yadav, he requested to permit sand mining in the state and also to remove maximum villages outside the sensitive zone.
He said he also met Home Minister Amit Shah and Union Minister Arjun Munda with a delegation requesting for inclusion of Goa’s Gouli-Dhangar Community in the Scheduled Tribe (ST) Category.
He said he met Minister for Railways, Communications, Electronics and Information Technology Ashwini Vaishnaw and discussed various IT-related projects which were pending in the state.
The Chief Minister also met Minister for Coal and Mines Prahalad Joshi and signed an MoU with Mineral Exploration Limited to assess mineral resources in Goa.
Dr. Sawant said he also met Minister of Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari and discussed various issues related to the construction of roads in the state, national highways.
