Panjim: The Goa Bench of Bombay High Court in Goa on Thursday directed the state government to insist on negativity certificate issued 72 hours prior from those entering the state from May 10, 2021.
Hearing a public interest petition filed by South Goa Advocates Association, the High Court also directed the state government to indicate the status of the vaccination drive in respect of age group of 18 to 45 years.
It said the state government should provide sufficient police protection around hospitals and wards and boards and posters be put up informing the public at large that there would be zero tolerance towards any form of violence against medical personnel and that it would be dealt with an iron hand.
The High Court asked the government to file affidavit giving details in respect of purchase of 200 ventilators which the State Government had assured to purchase in an affidavit filed before the High Court in March 2020, to indicate whether any thought process had gone in respect of a lockdown considering that the situation was out of control, testing facilities in the state, essential medicines available in the state and steps taken to augment the same.
It also asked the state government to make the Covid tests results available at the earliest and indicate in its affidavit whether facility for buffer stock of oxygen was in place as directed by the Supreme Court.
