The Bombay High Court at Goa on Wednesday fined Goa’s Education Minister Babush Monserrate Rs. 2,000/- for his failure to comply with the court’s order to file his say on the objections to his petition challenging the CBI charge sheet against him in connection with the attack on Panjim police station.
It may be recalled that Babush had moved the High Court in April challenging the CBI charge sheet against him and had also prayed that the proceedings in the lower court be kept in abeyance till his counter complaint is registered and a charge sheet is filed based on it.
The court on the last date of hearing had asked Babush to clear the objections raised to his petition by 15th June. However, as he had not filed the objections when the court took up the matter on Wednesday, he was fined for disobedience.
