HC issues notice to Goa Govt on ‘Laadli Laxmi’ Scheme

The Goa bench of the Bombay High Court has issued a notice to the Goa government asking for a explanation on the ‘Laadli Laxmi’ scheme in reply to the petition filed by Steffi Fernandes through Advocate Aires Rodrigues.

High Court has asked the Advocate General of Goa to reply to the notice within two weeks.

The petition has questioned the decision of the government to hand-out the ‘Laadli Laxmi’ scheme forms through the MLAs and whether it would serve the purpose of reaching all Goans or just a few due to political compulsions.

It may be recalled that the first print run of the ‘Laadli Laxmi’ scheme forms were taken by MLAs of BJP and their alliance partners, with none of the Congress MLAs getting the forms. However, the Chief Minister has assured in the House that in the second print run all MLAs will get the forms.
