Goa Bench of the Bombay High Court on Tuesday stayed the tender process of retail pharmacy at the Goa Medical College, Bambolim.
Some of the retailers and wholesalers of medicines had filed a petition against the advertisement issued by the government in which the main condition laid was that the tenderer should be the manufacturer of the medicine. And because of this condition, it was not possible for the retailers and wholesalers to bid for this tender.
The petitioners also alleged that the Government had laid this condition with mala fide intentions to suit only some companies and reject others.
A similar petition was filed by the retailers and wholesalers in the High Court, which was withdrawn after oral assurance of the government that it will re-float the tender. In that tender too same condition was laid and same issue was raised by the petitioners.
