Speaker Pratapsing Rane dissolved the State Legislative Assembly for the fourth consecutive morning on Friday stating that the Opposition was not interested in the Question Hour.
All the Opposition Bharatiya Janata Party members walked into the assembly with black cloth tied around their mouth symbolizing that they are gagged from raising important issues in the House.
Leader of Opposition Manohar Parrikar, referring to Anna Hazare’s fast in the National Capital, said that in the absence of the ‘Lokayukta’, the legislative assembly was the only recourse to raise issues pertaining to the conduct of ministers.
Rejecting the chief minister’s offer to make a statement on the issue, he said they wanted a discussion.
Although there was no slogan shouting or rushing to the well, the speaker adjourned the House till 12:30 noon stating that the Opposition did not appear to be interested in Question Hour.
