Shimla: Himachal Pradesh Opposition leader Mukesh Agnihotri on Wednesday demanded that government should directly transfer relief package amount into bank account of Covid-19 affected people before imposition of partial lockdown to curb corona.
Briefing mediapersons after attending an all party meet presided over by Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur to discuss the coronavirus situation and ways to deal it, Mr Agnihotri said the decision of imposing restrictions is prerogative of council of ministers, however, opposition wants that government should keep in mind that people in tourism and hospitality unit and those not getting salaries, should be provided relief package before lockdown.
He said that government informed the all party meeting that it has demanded 73 lakh doses of vaccine to continue the inoculation.
CPI(M) legislator Mr Rakesh Sinha said the state government should also follow the WHO guidelines instead of imposing restrictions in the state to contain the outbreak.
There should be effective mechanism in place to provide Oxygenated beds in the state and increase in the vaccination process on a war-footing.
