IAS Officers Retire For Better Posting

Goa is everybody’s favourite destination and while earlier bureaucrats wanted to be posted here, the latest trend, particularly amongst Indian Administrative Service officers is to opt for Voluntary Retirement Scheme only to bag plum posting from the Government of Goa.
In the last few years, as many as nine IAS officers who were posted in Goa have opted for VRS and then taken up lucrative postings offered by the Government of Goa with very little workload but exemplary perks.

The latest in line is V K Jha, Secretary (Industry) who has opted for VRS after the Government of Goa has offered him the plum posting of Chairman of the Consumer Grievances Redressal Forum.
Earlier, Dr. M M Modassir opted for VRS and was appointed as State Election Commissioner. Incidentally, Dr. Modassir had a few years ago worked in Goa at a junior scale and was now posted again as Secretary.
Other IAS officers who opted for VRS to take up assignments of the Government of Goa are A Venkatraman , Pukh Raj Bumb, N Rajashekhar, A Venkatraman, R I Jaiprakash, Chaman Lal, M P Tyagi and S S Jain.
Besides these there are other IAS officers who while working in Goa have taken up second homes here like IAS officers J P Singh, Rajiv Yaduvanshi and Kiran Dhingra and IPS officer KD Singh
