New Delhi: The number of people who have recovered from Covid-19 in India crossed 60 lakh-mark on Wednesday with a record 60,091 patients recuperating within 24 hours, as per the Health Ministry data.
As per the Ministry update, 60,091 COVID patients have been cured since Tuesday and the number of recoveries across the nation have crossed 20 lakhs so far, with the figure standing at 20,37,871.
The recovery rate has now improved to 73.64 per cent, while patients who have defeated the virus have exceeded the present active cases by 13,61,357.
However, active case load in the country has also increased by 3,348 in the past 24 hours, and the presently the country is home to 6,76,514 active cases.
Meanwhile, there have been 1092 deaths due to pandemic reported across the country pushing the toll
toll so far to 52,889, while the COVID death rate is at 1.91 per cent.
According to the Indian Council of Medical Research, 3,17,42,782 COVID tests have been conducted since Tuesday.
Maharashtra is the state housing the maximum number of active cases, which have now increased by 1,341 and the total number stands at 1,56,920, while the state reported 422 deaths pushing its death toll to 20,687.
It also happens to be the state with the maximum number of COVID cases till date in the country.
