In a rather shocking tweet, one which indirectly raises a huge suspicion on the probability of large scale bribing in Defence deals in the country and pions a finger of question on the previous UPA government.
All India Congress Committee General Secretary & Goa Desk In-Charge, Digvijay Singh in a Twitter post at @digvijaya_28 on Sunday stated, “Every Defence deal runs into Thousands of Crores and so does the bribe. Would the NDA Govt’s Conscience Keeper Mohan Bhagwatji pl respond?”.
The Indian twitteratis went on an overdrive throughout the day, demanding that senior Congress leader Singh, explains the contents of his tweet and whether the previous UPA government did indulge in bribing to get Defence deals cleared.
It is a known fact that Congress leader and former Indian Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi was accused of being involved in the now infamous Bofors scam. Even recently, deals such as the Tatra trucks and Agusta Westland deals have raised suspicion of underhand dealings between government representatives, lobbyists and foreign companies with defence related products.
