Goa Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Manguirish Pai Raiker on Monday said that State Government’s Information Technology Incubation Centre will be ready by 30th June which will be set up at GCCI’s premises in Verna industrial estate.
Raiker informed that they have already signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for this centre, which will help the new entrepreneurs to set up their shop in the state.
State Industries department has entered into an agreement over the project with GCCI for which the Government has sanctioned one-time grant of Rs 50 lakh. Fifty workstations have been set up on the first floor of GCCI in Verna exclusively for this centre.
GCCI officials informed that the Centre will work as an alternate space for the entrepreneurs, who were not able to get premises in Verna’s Software Technology Park.
GCCI Director R S Kamat said that once you once an entrepreneur has his project at the incubation centre, he will have all the government facilities associated with IT business.
The facility will have modern counter, broadband facility, soft infrastructure, secretarial service, chartered account and also business and marketing advice for the entrepreneur.
GCCI and Goa government also has a tie-up with institutions like BITS-Pillani, Padre Concessao College of Engineering, Goa Institute of Management and Goa Engineering College, from where the mentors will guide the entrepreneurs.
