Backed with documents obtained under the Right to Information Act, Rajesh Amonkar from Porvorim has accused Pravin Volvotkar, Deputy Director (Technical), Department of Information & Technology of cheating and corruption.
In a complaint lodged with the Vigilance Department, Rajesh has alleged that Pravin has not only violated the rules but also misrepresented facts to get himself appointed in the department.
The complaint states that before joining government service, Pravin was employed as a full time lecturer in Computer Science at Damodar College of Commerce and Economics from August 2003 to June 2006 and despite that took up a part-time job in a private company thereby violating the Goa University rules.
Rajesh further complained that Pravin deceived the Goa Public Service Commission to get appointed in the Information & Technology Department as a result of which, qualified candidates with full time experience were by passed.
Further, the complaint alleges that Pravin has purchased assets worth lakhs of rupees after joining government service without informing the same to his department heads as is mandated in government servants conduct rules.
Copies of the complaint have also been forwarded to the Chief Secretary, Information & Technology Secretary and GPSC chairman.
