JD (U) Now Demands Goa CMs Resignation

Following the demands of the BJP and several Anti-Mining NGOs in Goa for the resignation of the Chief Minister Digambar Kamat on the alleged involvement in the illegal mining in Goa; the Janata Dal (U) Party too has decided to lend support to this demand in the state and the Centre.

Speaking exclusively to via a telephonic conversation, Javed Raza, National Secretary and Goa In-Charge said that illegal mining in Goa is a shame on the Congress government, who have allowed this crime on the people of Goa to continue for many years. If the estimated illegal iron-ore extracted is over Rs 8000 crore, it is shocking to note the irregularities that have gone unnoticed by the Minister for Mines and the mining department. A CBI inquiry is a must and the CM must be asked resign.

JD (U) incidentally is the only political party that spoke about the police atrocities on the Cauvrem village and the tribal youth leader Nilesh Gaonkar attack, which the police have not been able to solve yet.

Raza further added, mining is Goa is destroying the environment and this rampant illegal mining which has gone unchecked must be stopped in the interest of the people and environment.
