Jesuit Priest raided in investigations on plot to kill Prime Minister Modi at Ranchi

Armed with search warrants, Crime Branch in its five-state coordinated raid in Maharashtra, Goa, Telangana, Haryana also searched the Namkum Home of Catholic Priest of the Jesuit Order and social activist Fr Stan Swamy for alleged involvement in a plan to assassinate Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The eight-member Pune police team, with help of local police seized Fr Stan Swamy’s computer, laptop, CDs, books and documents in the three-hour raid that began at 6am at Baigacha, a building where rights activists host seminars and where the priest stays in a room.

Swamy was interrogated but not arrested.
