JNU: Shah speaks to Delhi LG, case transferred to crime Branch

New Delhi, Jan 6 (IECurrentAffairs) Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday spoke to Delhi LG Anil Baijal and asked him to talk to representatives from JNU for discussions, officials said.The JNU case has been transferred to the Crime Branch of the Delhi Police, a Home Ministry official said.

The Registrar and Pro-VC of JNU met LG Baijal and apprised him of the situation.
Mr Shah on Sunday spoke to Delhi Police Chief Amulya Patnayak and ordered an inquiry into the incident.
The Home Minister had asked the Delhi Police to submit the probe report as soon as possible.
Medico Legal Case of 35 students, who were admitted in AIIMS trauma centre and Safdarjung, have been completed.
Violence broke out on JNU campus on Sunday when a masked gang of over 40 persons assaulted students and teachers with lathis, rods and hammer, injuring 30 people, including JNU Student’s Union president Aishe Ghosh.
