Revenue Minister Jose Philip D’Souza while asserting that he has not received any directive from his party to resign as a minister said there was a conspiracy to finish the Nationalist Congress Party in Goa.
He asserted that he not done anything wrong by attending the meeting on Wednesday at Margao and wondered why no action was taken against Micky Pacheco for confabulating with the opposition during the civil polls held recently.
While maintaining that he has not received any directive to step down as a minister, Jose Philip also shot down rumours that he was all set to join the Congress Party.
“I have full confidence in my party High Command that there will be no injustice done,” he said.
Meanwhile, PWD Minister Churchill Alemao reiterated his support to the two NCP ministers and disclosed that he had already conveyed the public opinion and ground reality to his party supremo Sonia Gandhi through Hariprasad and Ahmed Patel.
He opined that the Congress High Command would consider all factors before taking any decision and added that it has been reminded that Jose Philip and Nilkanth Halarnkar were responsible in saving the Congress government in Goa when the G-7 had tried to topple it.
Besides, he said inducting Micky Pacheco who is under cloud over the Nadia Torrado death case and also money laundering and immigration racket should not be inducted in the cabinet specially when the Congress High Command had asked Dayanand Narvekar to step down when he was indicted in the ticket gate scam.
“Inducting tainted persons in the cabinet will send a wrong signal to the public,” he said.
