Tiruchipalli: Official of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) conducted raids at the offices of the controversial Muslim organisation Popular Front of India (PFI) and Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) in Tiruchipalli and Kumbakonam in the connection with the horrific and brutal murder of the PMK party functionary – Ramalingam – for opposing religious conversions.
While most media remained silent on this brutal crime, GoaChronicle and IndianExpose have been relentless in their pursuit and fight for #Justice4Ramalingam.
On February 5, 2019 a group of PFI members, chopped Ramalingam and left him too bleed to death for opposing religious conversion; that some its members were undertaking in his village a few days prior to his gruesome murder.
The police had arrested 11 members of PFI, while 16 members were booked, in connection with the murder of Ramalingam.
Due to demand from certain quarters in the state and in hope of justice, a demand was made that the case be transferred too NIA.
On March 14th, NIA took over investigation of the Ramalingam case and on this basis have conducted raids at the PFI and SDPI locations.
