Karnataka has enough stock of vaccine: Health Minister

Bengaluru: Karnataka Minister for Health and Medical Education Dr K Sudhakar on Monday said that the state government has received 15 lakhs vaccine from the union health ministry and that there is enough stock.

Speaking to reporters here on Monday, he said Prime Minister Narendra Modi had discussed Covid-19 second wave issue with eight states and instructions were given on controlling measures to be followed strictly.

He said the state government has taken some serious controlling measures to avoid further spreading the virus. Stating that the health department reserved for ICU beds and asked the private hospital to reserve 20 per cent of the beds to Covid cases.

As per the Technical Committee’s advice, the situation should be carefully considered till May end and sought citizens cooperation for controlling.

The positive cases in Bengaluru may increase further on a daily basis.

On the allegations of opposition leader Siddaramaiah not taking the consideration of opposition in covid related issues, he said he would discuss the matter with Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa and take suggestions from the opposition also.

In order to allow economic activity, the government has given some concessions in various sectors and concerned officials should implement the government guidelines.
