Kavlekar congratulates Rahul for party’s good performance in assembly polls

Panaji, Dec 12 (GCCurrentAffairs) Leader of Opposition in the Goa Legislative Assembly Chandrakant ‘Babu’ Kavlekar on Wednesday congratulated Congress National President Rahul Gandhi for spectacular performance of the party in the state assembly elections results of which were announced on Tuesday.

In a statement, he said, Congress national as well as local leadership and workers in the Hindibelt states worked tirelessly and unitedly to ensure Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)’s decisive defeat in their own backyards in straight contest in spite of limited resources and all type of ‘dirty tricks’.

”BJP was busy chanting Congress Mukta Bharat all this months, but if we had to look at this results especially in the BJP ruled states it is absolutely clear, we are heading towards BJP Mukta Bharat. This anti-wave was first seen in Goa in 2017 and now it would be a tsunami ensuring complete rout of BJP, and its politics of hatred, from national politics in the forthcoming elections. They have lost inspite of having their senior Chief Ministers ruling the state,” he said.

The Congress Legislature Party (CLP) leader claimed that if the elections were held now, the BJP would lose more number of seats.

”If we had to go for polls in a CM less state of Goa, I am sure BJP will loose never to come again in power in Goa. There is huge unrest among the people against the current ‘headless, corrupt, inefficient and dysfunctional’ State government which is working and biased towards certain people and business houses,” he claimed.

”They are having no mercy towards farmers, mining affected people as observed in handling case of Sanjivani Sugar factory, mining business in Goa, etc,” he alleged and claimed that the people of Goa were eager to express their resentment in 2019 ensuring both MPs to represent Congress in Parliament Election 2019
