Sarah, the estranged wife of former Tourism Minister Mickey Pacheco pleaded to be kept away from his affairs as she is no longer associated with him in any manner and accused Mickey of dragging her name unnecessarily to cover his misdeed.
Addressing media persons at Margao on Monday, Sarah admitted to having started a recruitment company – France Overseas – in 1998 but added that the very next year she closed in down. She also claimed to have nothing to do with the recruitment agency ‘Franca Resources’ started by Mickey soon after.
Claiming that she carried out her business in an absolutely clean and open manner without bending or breaking any laws, she said a thorough probe would reveal who was involved in the alleged immigration racket unearthed by the US authorities.
Sarah said that it was not fair on the part of her estranged husband to drag her name into any controversy that he gets involved him.
She however did not rule out the possibility of Mickey using her signatures for his illegal activities and pointed out that she has already filed a case against him for forging her signature to sell her car and flat.
It may be recalled that Mickey Pacheco following reports that the United States’ State Department had provided documents to prove his involvement in immigration and money laundering racket had asserted his innocence and quipped that maybe is estranged wife was involved in the immigration scam.
