Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Kerala on Friday evening to take stock of the flood situation in the southern state.
Modi spoke to Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Friday morning.
“I will be heading to Kerala to take stock of the unfortunate situation due to flooding,” Prime Minister tweeted.
“Had a telephone conversation with Kerala CM Shri Pinarayi Vijayan. We discussed the flood situation across the state and reviewed rescue operations,” said Mr Modi.
Prime Minister has been in touch with Mr Vijayan and has spoken to the Chief Minister at least three times in last two days.
Floods and rains have played havoc in Kerala, claiming several lives and destroyed properties.
