Kerala High Court seeks views of the Bar, stakeholders on proposed designation of 8 Senior Advocates

The Kerala High Court has sought the views of the Bar and other stakeholders on the proposed designation of eight lawyers as senior advocates.

As per a notification signed off by the High Court’s Registrar General Sophy Thomas on March 30, the proposal to designate the following lawyers as senior advocates is underway:

  • John Varghese(recommendation by Senior Advocates)
  • Philip Mathew(application)
  • Babu Karukapadath(recommendation by Senior Advocates)
  • Babu S Nair(recommendation by Senior Advocates)
  • Deepak P(proposal by Judge)
  • Sasthamangalam S Ajithkumar(recommendation by Senior Advocates)
  • A Kumar (application)
  • Mohammed Nias CP(recommendation by Senior Advocates)

Suggestions of the Bar and other stakeholders must be sent within 30 days from the date of publication of the notice. The suggestions and views must be in writing and bear the name and full address of the sender. These must be addressed to the Registrar General of the High Court. The notification adds that anonymous petitions or representations will not be entertained.
